At Pils Pride 2008 in Lurago Marinone (CO)

First of all and most important, I’m a craft beer lover. I was born and live in Rome, Italy. I started to approach quality beers a few years ago, almost by accident, and since then it was born a passion that now accompanies me every day. In 2005 I founded with other Roman beer lovers, including Luca Sabatella (Giaguarino) and Leonardo Di Vincenzo (brewmaster of Birra del Borgo) the group Domozimurghi Romani (”Roman homebrewers”) to promote craft beer. Two years later we became a real association, of which I currently hold the role of President.

As Domozimurghi Romani we organize regular events, tastings and festivals. In 2006 we achieved our biggest project: birRO-MAnia – Italian craft beer festival. It was a great event, which lasted three days and became one of the official events of Notte Bianca in Rome. The festival hosted nearly 50 beers, including Italian and European, and received an impressive response from the people.

I travelled to Europe following the routes of the brewing tradition of the continent. We visited Belgium, Bavaria and Germany, Czech Republic, England (joining the GBBF). Our summer holidays are completely dedicated to beer travels …

In 2008 my passion has led me to realize the italian blog Cronache di Birra, a sort of news and opinions aggregator about craft beer. The idea behind this project is to provide a reference point, constantly updated, for everything that happens in the craft beer scene, in Italy and overseas. The blog received a great response of audience, becoming one of the most important italian news websites about craft beer. In the meantime, I noticed a growing interest of foreign beer lovers for the emerging italian movement, so in 2009 I decided to start with the english version of my blog, Beer Chronicles.

After the informations about my passion for craft beer, here other curiosities about me. I graduated in Sciences of Communication at La Sapienza university and currently I’m working for the web agency Logic Solution. I play basketball, my second great passion, for my team Sport Roma 7. I’m also the co-founder and technical manager of one of the best italian website about basketball, Basket Central.
