Months pass and Birrificio del Ducato continues to collect accolades around the world. In the past I have written about the gold medal at the European Beer Star with Verdi Imperial Stout and the inclusion of Nuova Mattina (the American version of New Morning) among the 25 best beers of 2008 according with Draft Magazine. This last beer returns in the spotlight, as it won the silver medal in its category at the recent Stockholm Beer Festival.

Every two years the city of Bra (CN) hosts an event that represents one of the jewels of Slow Food. It’s Cheese, an exhibition exploring the world of cheese, with the participation of producers and industry professionals from all around the world. From Friday 18 to Monday 21 September will take the 2009 edition of this event, that the beer lovers always eagerly await because of the large space devoted to our favorite drink. As announced some days ago, last night Garrett Oliver, brewmaster of Brooklyn Brewery, was the guest of bir & fud of Rome, where he charmed the partecipants with its vast experience and his ability to communicate. His attendance, as well as that of other Italian brewers, turned the night in one of those special events that remain in the heart of every fan. So last night was unique, even magical, thanks to the many beers tasted, the wonderful food matchings and mainly the many guests.
