A few days ago Beverfood published the news Menabrea which has officially launched two new beers, expressly designed to hit top restaurants. They actually belong to a brand new Top Restaurant line, named 3,5° (a light golden lager) and 7,5° (a red bock) after their ABV. The company of Biella is striding to match their brand to refined cuisine, in the wake of other industrial brewers that already tried to walk the same path in the past. I must recall that Menabrea is industrial to all intents, although often mistakenly considered a craft brewer from beer newbies.

'10Birra dell’anno awards: the results
As largely expected, one of the most important event for craft beer during Pianeta Birra fair was the Birra dell’anno (”Beer of the year”) award, organized by Unionbirrai. Let’s see who won…
First of all, I’d like to compliment with the association for the success of the event, well organized and enhanced by a spectacular jury, composed of many Italian and international judges, like Garrett Oliver, Yvan de Baets and Jeff Evans. Turning to the results, we can notice how many surprises have characterized the victories in different categories. Many gold medals have gone to unsuspicious names, and this is the most interesting aspect of the 2010 edition of the contest.
