'09GrapeHops organizes a beer tour in Northern Italy
Piedmont and Lombardy are some of the most interesting Italian regions to visit for a beer lover, first of all because here started the beer revolution that now is spreading all over the country. Brewers here use both local and imported products to flavor their beers – chestnuts, local grapes, Venezuelan cocoa beans, and other exotic products all contribute to some amazing artisanal beers.
If you’re interested in visit Piedmont and Lombardy, maybe this news could be intriguing. GrapeHops Tour is planning a week-long tour in Italy to discover the beer, the people behind the beer, and the food that goes with the beer of that wonderful land.
Here the details:
We’ll arrive in Milan with one day to decompress and check out some of the local beer scene, with a tour and tasting at local brewery Birrificio Lambrate, stops at some of the best local brew-pubs, some beer and food shopping, sightseeing, and two great dinners.
Afterward, we will leave Milan and spend a five days exploring the beer culture in Piedmont, accompanied by Paolo Ferrero, a local food expert and cookbook author.
The itinerary includes:
- Tours, tasting and beer-paired lunches and dinners at several of the regions most well-known craft breweries
- A special tasting of cheese at Piedmont’s cheesemaker Arbiora, with beer pairings of course
- A bit of sightseeing, here and there, and a few stops for espresso in between
- Explorations of the beer and food scene in Torino, Piedmont’s capital. We will have our final two dinners in the city of Torino.
